Data traffic on mobile networks has outgrown voice traffic for the first time according to the world’s largest network equipment provider, Ericsson. According to the stats of December 2009 more than 400 million mobile broadband subscribers totaled a data traffic of around 14 Tera bytes that slightly was more than what the remaining 4.6 Billion mobile phone customers could produce.
This is a direct repercussion of the growing demand and popularity of smart phones and the growth shows that the data traffic will continue to increase as more and more people get access to mobile broadband and start accessing email, web traffic, music and video via their phones.
