Twitter’s CEO Evan Williams made the announcement yesterday that the micro
blogging website is taking another step towards integrating the site’s feature with other social media networks and the rest of the web for that matter. The new feature is designed to allow the user to make use of the basic twitter functionality without having to navigate away from the actual page.
According to the Twitter blog, site’s owners will only need to insert a few lines of javascript (rather than installing twitter API) in order to enable the @anywhere functionality. This new framework will bring the twitter experieince to sites such as Newyork times, Digg, Meebo, Yahoo, ebay, youtube and will allow the visitor to e-g follow a Newyork Times journalist directly from the page, tweet about a video from youtube and discover/follow new twitter accounts from the Yahoo home page.
