Its not very difficult to spend hours and hours on the internet while doing well…almost nothing. Happens all the time doesn’t it? You just cease to track the amount of time spent online while your important tasks are being neglected. Here is a list of addons/extensions for three most popular internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Opera) to keep a check on the amount of time you spend browsing the interweb.
Time Tracker for Google Chrome
For Chrome users, there is an extension called “Time Tracker” that will measure the amount of time you spend on a particualr page. It will stop counting if there is no user activity i-e no mouse movements or keyboard entries. You can also pause the timer at any time and also reset all stats whenever necessary. The stats windows shows total time in minutes and also a percentage display of time spent on each page.
Time Tracker for Mozilla Firefox
Do you open tabs on Firefox faster than you close them? This one is just for you. Keep track of how much time you spend on Firefox using Time Tracker addon.
It has features such as:
- Track browsing time across sessions.
- Automatic pause.
- Reset counter.
- List ‘work’ sites that you don’t want to be counted.
- Total time each day, last reset and since installing.
Op Time for Opera
For users of Opera there is an extension called “Op Time” that counts time spent on the web. It gives you name of the site, time spent on each site and total time spent on all websites. You can also select how many websites you want to keep track of in the preferences.
Just intall and get the ball rolling.
Hope these add ons will help you reduce the time you kill on the wide web looking at cat pictures, facebooking and the list (of useless things) goes on.
